Join our volunteer network and help us expand our reach and multiply our impact as we serve together in Jacksonville.

Volunteer Opportunities

Our team is amazing and we are excited you are checking out the opportunities to get involved.  We hope you take the next step and join us. 

 

Before you start, this application reflects activities available in both First90 and Beyond90.  They are two distinct organizations that work together to provide a holistic approach to refugee resettlement and ongoing support toward self-sufficiency.  First90 is a faith-based refugee resettlement agency and Affiliate Partner of World Relief.  When new arriving refugee cases are closed at 90 days in First90, the new families are seamless transitioned to Beyond90 services for continuum of care.  Beyond90 is a humanitarian nonprofit organization that bridges the gap to self-sufficiency for the newcomers in our community. We look forward to working with you in supporting this mission and assisting refugees as they acclimate to their new community. Below are some options for you to consider:

  • Welcome Team - Gather 6 or 8 people and commit to walking alongside a family for a minimum of 3 months.

  • Friendship Partner - Become a friend to a new refugee.

  • Interact with refugees by assisting in one of our personal development classes

  • Join support services and assist refugees with SNAP, Medicaid, many household management topics, and more!  Training provided

  • Client transportation to appointments

  • Fluent in another language? We need translators

  • Event Planning

  • Graphic design, photography, videography

  • Office administration tasks like scanning, filing etc.

  • If you own a business, hire refugees

  • If you own a home, rent to a refugee family

  • Organize items from our inventory to prepare for an apartment set up

  • Grocery shop for a new family. We provide the list and cover the cost.

  • Prepare a welcome meal for a new family.

  • If you have an extra room, host a new refugee for a period of time.

  • Community outreach events

  • Apartment set-ups for new arrivals

  • Host a diaper drive to support refugee mothers or collect small used toys for our support services center

  • Collect toiletries or cleaning items for new arrivals with our Baskets for New Beginnings Promotion

  • Pick up and drop off donations.  We've got the truck!

  • Help us rehab.  Periodically we need your HGTB skills to get a residence ready for a new family.

  • Engage in English conversation with a parent ESL learner

  • Special event help

  • Have a volunteer idea?  We'd love to hear it
